    Series 3 Anyone seen these before?

    When making it . It was a case of cutting a rectangle of plate, making two bends then make two cuts, bend again cut a bit out, weld together, and weld a bit in. Drill two holes and cut an opening. Easy...............I don't think. It was a pain to make. C'mon other restorers,How did you do it?

    That is the offside piece the nearside was completely rotton. I made a replacement for that side, just wondering if they are made anywhere.

    Hi. this was taken from the inner top corner of the bulkhead. I have never seen them mentioned on build threads or on Youtube. I cant find them online to buy, I had to fabricate my own. What have the bulkead restorers done about them? cheers peter

    What have you done to your Landie today.

    1983 Series 3 88 Started work on the rusty port (sorry) near side bulkhead pillar and floor, which saw me getting excited with the angle grinder. Pics to follow in a couple of weeks ....I think.

    I made a cardboard template, made a new section, it needs a couple of holes drilled and will be trimmed after fitting. Then cut out the bad stuff and will try fitting over the next day or so.

    I cleaned down to bare metal, redrew my marks , tacked on the hinge and snugged down the bolts and it swings easy

    I just checked my original mark and it measured 1406 mm so that looks fine. My son is coming around later and will help me try the windscreen and bolts/brackets for position ( too heavy on my own). Will see how near it is, cheers for the help Peter

    Sorry, they are the screen brackets that sit up above the top of the bulkhead.

    Hi folks, Can anyone tell me the distance between the hinge brackets mounted on the bulkhead? I had to cut one off when repairing the bulkhead and although I made a measurement mark I want to double check if it is correct. Thanks Peter

    I am part way through doing the bulkhead and am getting them both galvanised along with other smaller parts.

    Only the frame plates on the back which were spotwelded on. Nothing in the way of a water trap.

    Just a few piccies of my repairs, new bottom part plus a couple of pitted areas. Replacement bottom was supplied by Welding Wood. I am quite pleased with the end results considering my welding skills are very basic.

    Hi Steve Just to thanks for the comment on my build. Yours looks very good with a lot of time and effort been spent. I left my bulkhead bolted to the chassis at the four mounting points for repair work. I cut the offside pillar out bit by bit and marked and measured its position before...
