    P38A Project P38

Well it is coming across as a snide remark from someone with an air of superiority, so, I'll think i'll just give it a DGI.

I don't know how to take your post to be honest.....

    P38A Project P38

Yeah, I loosened them all off, replaced the ones I had overtightened and did them all in sequence again, but as you said before, might have squished the HG too much and now it's got gaps.

    P38A Project P38

Yeah, do it nice or do it twice is the old expression! It was always going to be a risky chance but better it's gone now while it's being worked on. When I motored it over with no spark plug, it sprayed water everywhere in the bonnet so must have been a fair bit in there! I will get it all...

    P38A Project P38

Well @Henry_b , you can officially say, I told you so! :D:D:D:eek: Started the P38 up the other day after it's rebuild and ran ok, albeit a little rough. Got the dash back together today, sorted the blowing manifold, was quite happy hoovering the car interior and go to start her up and it...

    P38A Door Loom replacement

Mozzy and Siddeley, thanks for the help. I went to the scrapyard today and there are 2 P38s there, unfortunately, wrong colour interiors so no drivers seat for me but the door looms looked good, so, I had them. The body side of the disconnection is directly under the rubber boot in the door...

    P38A Door Loom replacement

I've got a few snapped cables in the door Loom on the driver's side. It's right inside the rubber boot in the door shut. It's easier to change the loom or pull the loom out to repair it. Does anyone happen to know where the plug is on the vehicle side of the loom?

    P38A Project P38

I can only find one and it's got the wrong colour piping. No doubt the local Scrappy will have one soon.

    P38A Project P38

Well I started off with a cheap dead freelander with no engine and now have a turbo petrol 200bhp freelander :D I like projects! I was just ebaying for seats and there are none on there! :O I noticed that, it's actually the best looking winch for the P38. I'll keep my eye out, I've got lucky...

    P38A Project P38

Cheers Henry, Yeah, starting to tot up a few more jobs as it comes apart and back together. The drivers seat just isn't right, it rocks back and forward, it's heating element has failed and the stitching has gone on the piping, I think it's probably more worth while just replacing it. The...

    P38A Project P38

Cheers Mozz, still loads to do, it needs a deep clean to get it back to RR standard. It will be my farm vehicle but also needs to look the part! I love the car and have seen a few around recently but not that many, can't wait to get that V8 rumbling around Cornwall and the UK :D

    P38A Project P38

I believe it all worked, some crumby speaker wire had been used to replace the snapped cables in the door loom. I've taken it out, i'll let it get to the point where it annoys me loads and I will repair it :D That cable was taped up and left under the drivers dash.

    P38A Project P38

Does anybody recognise the se two pieces? The first part fell out of the dash, the second is a cable that routes round the drivers footwell pillar and back aft under the carpet, it is too short to reach the radio so I am guessing some kind of car phone kit?

    P38A Project P38

Lucky for me, I am on leave from work. The wife is starting to nag about me doing house work now......:D

    P38A Project P38

Lucky for me, I didn't have a sheared bolt but I did already replace it with a hex head bolt, I saw it on ebay and thought, ooo that's a good idea!

    P38A Project P38

As you can see, the dash is out!

    P38A Project P38

Good plan, it needs a good clean out anyway!

    P38A Project P38

Well, I wasn't expecting that... Just got to the heater matrix and the bolt is snapped off in the connector........ This is now going to be a full dash out job! Yayyyyyyyyy Well, I had the blender motors to do anyway, hopefully it will all be worth it!

    P38A Project P38

Well the good news is there was still pressure in the tank when I lifted the lid off. I'm just in by the heater matrix o rings.....
