It’s actually a 300tdi auto chassis and running gear with a Discovery 2 body bolted on top. The same one that was used to tow my broken Grand Cherokee back to the dealer last year.

So we made it to Thetford! Just a small group of five Landies for the trip XY switch chucked the Black D2’s gearbox into limp mode on the second run so that was parked up in a village and he jumped into the other D2 Lovely 110 that did require a lift home on a recovery truck...

Yes cutting it open seems to be the only way forward to solve this problem. Gonna try and get the death wheel across it to cut it open then weld in a new sleeve. Annoyingly means I have no rear tow points at the minute so going to wrap a strop round the chassis and tie it to the spare wheel...

Slow day at work again yesterday so nipped our and grabbed this to chuck over the engine. Before: And after: Seems to have got rid of a fare amount of crap on the engine though the power steering is groaning a bit now. Then nicked a couple of connectors off the mechanic and got...

Cheers Dieseldog, thanks for looking. Lots of excellent information there BFG thank you. I want to fit my 35’s back on this truck so think I’m gonna sort my extended arches first to give me a better idea of what metal I have left to work with. Box section with easy on mounts seems to be a good...

Laning day not far off now so need to crack on. Wanted to sort the cb aerial. And in my usual fashion I started drilling holes and then realised I couldn’t get to the inside where the mount was gonna go  Stupid inner skin. Tried to get at it with the death wheel but that didn’t work...
