    Range rover classic coil springs

Hi all. Hope you are all keeping well. Just a quick question on the Britpart coil springs. I want to freshen up my tired rusted springs and was wondering if any of you tried the Britpart black springs. I don't want the much too hard yellow ones as I want a softer ride. The black ones appear to...

Hope you, and all who are dear to you are keeping safe and well during these difficult times....I was just wondering if seeing as it's nigh on impossible to find a decent second hand bottom tailgate, and I am up to having a go, what with all this spare time on my hands, have any of you...

My suffix B Range Rover which I am currently trying to bring up to roadworthy condition had been lying up outside for 8 years in the elements and while it survived quite well considering...

I must say that I am a bit confused by all these load ratings when trying to choose springs. Thanks for your input.

Thanks for that.....Apparently the Mazda 35 SLTI weighs 295 KG as compared with a 300 Tdi which weighs approximately 240 KG....

    Range rover classic new springs

Hi all. I think the time has come to renew the springs, shocks and bushes on my F-plate classic fitted with the Mazda SLT3500 and I'm not too sure which springs and which load rating I need because of the heavier Mazda lump. I would like to lift it by 1 inch to allow for some slightly larger...

    Hazards question.

Hi all, and a big happy new year to each and every one of you. Hope you all are enjoying the festivities.....I have a quick question regarding the hazards on my series 3. Does the small bulb inside the warning pull switch complete the circuit for operation. Mine have stopped working and the only...

    Series 3 speedometer question

You cannot bodge the speedo drive on a series to suit the cable. It's not like the LT230 setup on a RRC or Disco. The shaft for the pinion gear is 16mm or 5/8 inch diameter with the square hole machined through it's centre so no chance of crushing the hole to fit the worn cable. I've just been...

Series 3 gearbox speedo drive removal

Thanks Jamesmartin. I presume that it is like a range rover classic LT 230 transfer case and is held in by an O-ring?

Series 3 gearbox speedo drive removal

Hi all. Hope you are all enjoying the festivities. Just a quick one. I went to change my speedo cable today and sure enough, the cable had snapped off in the drive unit and the remains are seized into it with no spur to grab onto with a pliers. My question is, can the drive unit be removed to...

    Series 3 brake servo repair

Thanks. The pedal has gone really stiff and I have to push down really hard on it to have any chance of stopping. I have the hiss when I press down but the hiss remains for the duration I have my foot on the pedal so, I have a leak and after further investigation, it is definitely in the servo...

    Range rover Classic roller/Brush painting

As above.....Anyone tried it with good results. I have a daily hack that is looking a bit rough and needs something done with peeled lacquer and faded spots in the paintwork. It will never be a show car and I use it for what it was meant to be used for. Working hard it's just looking a bit jaded...

    P38 Diesel power issue

Thanks RangeRoller dt.....It's on 195k miles and sounds good with little smoke on dipping the throttle. It was well maintained. She had heard from someone about disconnecting something to help get a bit more oomph but I know it wasn't the EGR. She recalls that it was either a plug or a pipe from...

    P38 Diesel power issue

Hi all. Was just wondering if there is any way to squeeze a bit more performance out of the M51 without fitting a power box or chipping the ECU. A friend has an Auto and is convinced she heard somewhere that unplugging something will give a bit better performance?. Thanks people.

2 door Range Rover inner panels.

Hi. Yes I am. There are lots of bolts on the footwell and the bulkhead side panel unlike a later 4 door that I had previously done the same work on. It certainly looks like they should unbolt. Anyway, I just thought I'd ask on here to get some pointers. Thanks.

2 door Range Rover inner panels.

Thanks. Maybe that one had previous welding work done before the rot got hold again. I can see lots of bolts on mine but I can't tell how difficult it would be to get the panels out by removing them. I thought I heard from someone years ago that 2 doors were all bolted and not welded together :-/
