Series 3 Heater Pipes, spare parts numbers - or selfmade

I bought a new replacement on ebay for not a lot of money, powder coated steel.

    Series 3 Winch recommendations?

    Again, tirfor.

Series 2 Broke my rear differential

I'd suggest if you're going for an annual road worthiness check that you make the repairs and get it road worthy first.

Series 2 Broke my rear differential

I removed my Salisbury diff without needing a spreader, you might be lucky if you just give it a go.

    Steve's unexpected Series 3 rebuild.

What size butyl tape did you use? I'm looking to fit a heated screen shortly but had an issue with which tape to use last time I changed glass.

    Series 3 88 Pickup

If the truck cab fits underneath the roll cage as shown in the photos, you should be able to fit a bikini hood with just a shark tooth rail and front hoop. I ran that setup for about 12 months with none of the extra gutters/rails around the door tops without issue.

    replacement bulkhead

I fitted a shielder bulkhead on my rebuild but wasn't too impressed with the finish. Fitting wise it was okay, but various holes out of place or not tapped as you'd expect them to be. Clearly old vehicles and new parts aren't going to marry up perfectly but I expected better and have heard...

Series 3 West Acre Ford crossing

Luckily it was washed away from the ford rather than into it! Didn't even realise until I walked back to collect it.

Series 3 West Acre Ford crossing

Needed to wash off the underside of the Series 3 today so took the short trip for a dip in West Acre Ford. Little deeper than last time I went through, but not bad considering the rain we've had recently. Castle Acre Ford was barely above the centre of wheels in comparison. Should really think...

    Series Doortops

Keep an eye out for a pair of MOD aluminium door tops, window profile is slightly different (Defender style) but they'll last a lot longer.

    LWB overall length ??

Length measures 433cm on my 1973 S3 109. Bumper height is 46.5cm to the bottom or 59cm to the top. However, I have got a custom front winch bumper fitted which isn't to exactly the same spec as standard. 7.50 x 16 tyres, parabolic springs but also a bit of extra weight on the front because of...

    LWB overall length ??

Got a S3 109 in the drive if you need real world measurements to see how it compares.

Tested how and for what? Voltage isn't necessarily an indication of a good battery.

    Series 3 Fan belts snapping

There's a great little independent called A L Services in Poole, Dorset if anyone is that way. Good service and has daily deliveries.

    Series 3 Fan belts snapping

All sorted, thanks again for the input. Fitted the new pulleys today and did a the 230 miles back home without any issue. Although I now have 3 spare belts just incase. The toothed 10mm belt (Dayco 10A1050C) sits flush with the top of the pulley, no sign of bottoming out at all. I'm confident...

    Series 3 Fan belts snapping

Appreciate the feedback, but the 10mm is the standard belt for the 2.25, OEM number returns the same size belt from different suppliers.

    Series 3 Fan belts snapping

Everything turning okay, new alternator and water pump, no excess play in any bearings. Dayco 10A1050C belt, so 10mm width. I think it's been contacting the bottom of the groove only due to the build up of rubber.

    Series 3 Fan belts snapping

Afternoon all, I had some issues with the fan belt snapping on a drive yesterday, I carry a spare but about 20 miles afterwards that snapped too. Correctly tensioned and a new belt, so concluded it must have been the pulleys that caused it. Whipped them off today and there's a build up of...

    Anti seize/copper grease and nylocs

On moving parts, correct. On non-moving parts like nuts and bolts, absolutely no problem. Providing it's not on particularly load bearing fasteners such as wheel nuts. I'm sure no one here wants to open that one...

Potential new Series 2a owner with questions on powerplant and drivetrain

Would absolutely suggest just making a loom from scratch, adding in whatever you need. Likely to work out cheaper, too.
