    Disco 1 What's this plug?

Can anyone tell me what this plug has become detached from? Found it just hanging today and can't see where it should go?

    Disco 1 Glow plug relay

Ok, just checked with my cheapo dmm and when ignition is switched on, the voltage hovers between 11 and 13 volts, then drops away to nothing after about 5 seconds. So I guess all is working as it should?

    Disco 1 Glow plug relay

Changed glow plugs the other day but suspect they aren't doing their job. I checked the relay and it's clicking on when the ignition is switched on, but can't hear it clicking off. Batteries in my multi meter are flat so can't test voltage at the plugs until tomorrow. Any ideas?

Replaced all the glow plugs today, as during that cold snap earlier this week the old girl struggled a bit with the bio diesel and has been a bit smoky on start up.

I didn't drain anything out. The grease will gradually come out over time, anyway, (as per land rovers in general, lol), and any water that happened to find a way in would find a way out before the grease.

I just pushed it in until it started coming out of the fill hole. One side took almost a full sachet, the other side took the full one without squashing out the top.

Topped up both CV joints with one shot grease. The addition of the little plastic tube that comes with it now has made life a lot easier since the last time I did them!

Thanks for that. I'm not familiar with L series freelancers but will search for them. What years were they made?

    Freelander 1 Bio diesel?

There's no reason why bio should ruin any injectors if it's made properly.

    Freelander 1 Bio diesel?

has anyone successfully run a td4 on bio diesel? My other half wants one and it would be handy if we run it on my home made bio diesel. Is the td4 a common rail Diesel engine?

    At my wits end...help.

Just tap it round anti clockwise with a hammer and punch or small chisel. What's left of it should come out pretty easy now. It doesn't look that bad to me?

Other what have u done on ur disco today

Noticed uneven wear on front near side tyre the other day. Gave the wheel a shake and found excessive vertical play. Checked whilst jacked up. All play disappeared when brakes applied, no movement in swivel. Today's job was to repack and adjust bearings. They were in surprisingly good nick...
