Well not too many. Just reset the fuel adaptations, adjust idle speed, and test turbo/egr/intake.

Today was a good day, sdd pays off. I did a relearn on injection, idle adjustment and tested turbo, egr and all. It idles so much better now.

Glow plug change and location of relay FL2

Just break the rod off, leave that and put something to air tight it. Also have a priest sprinkle some holy water when you take the manifold off and perhaps do some praying so you don't have a broken flap already like I've found on mine.

Glow plug change and location of relay FL2

Well what I've done is put some silicone on that small rund thing (the leaver breaks off) and that gets pushed in with a clip. Then, cut the vacuum hose and on the right side near the solenoid I just put a srew in to block the hose :) Picture nicked from the swirl flaps post:

Freelander 2 (LR2) camshaft chain timing

Alright thanks, sorted now. For whoever lands on this page seeking info, the discoloured or gold links need to align with the arrows, and cams should be in this position. Also pin IN the cam locked.

Freelander 2 (LR2) camshaft chain timing

So pretty much accurate in illustration? Which means it's the arrows not the dots.

Freelander 2 (LR2) camshaft chain timing

That is a very good idea, crank on tdc and pulley with pin in now. So whichever shows at 11/12ish clock I will use. I am hoping also that the topix documentation showing also the groove at end and cam position will help.

Freelander 2 (LR2) camshaft chain timing

Hello, did anyone timed the camshaft chain on 2.2 fl2 and remembers what is the actual mark? There are two marks, dots and arrows. Workshop manual says align on dots which is not possible cause the dots are between the cam teeth so the link will not land properly. But then, purchased toppix 1h...

Freelander 2 (LR2) Removing the Swirl Flaps - What's best?

Why not loose the the hose clip down which goes to intercooler with a 7mm and pull the whole thing up with the housing? there is also a screw there that holds the housing into a bracket, all easy to access

    Evoque Best news this year

Yep, that is the problem. It's a chain reaction, the place that solders the semiconductors can't deliver to jlr (and many others) because they are missing components. And it's not like wheels and tyres where you can swap them around. Some of these are patented and car manufacturers do not own...

Should a diesel engine be scrapped for low compression

If it's fl2 then the issue might be on the top, the bottom is quite solid on these engines. Mine had a snapped timing belt in the past then it was "fixed" but they left the flaps on. And now one of the flaps went cruising into the engine, so here we go again. Point being two of these issues that...
