Disco 2 Annoying not floating switch

Yes I remember that from fender wiring nightmare I did disconnect it, I then bell tested it in position and out, in the resevoir which is full it wasn't operating, when I removed it worked as I pressed. I did it with brakes off so it can't be bad pads draining fluid either. So must be float...

    Disco 2 Drag link

Yes with the wheel straight everything else lines up; besides the two Mil play in the one joint, as the caps on others are degraded I figure change them all as they're not expensive, so I was gana do the drag link at front then back rod too just didn't want to end up with it eating tyres...

Disco 2 Annoying not floating switch

Honestly I didn't look too hard cos I had a long day pouring a garage floor and it's getting dark, it wasn't floating when the level is at max and in it bells through rarther than being open like when I pushed it outside the fitting. I think the black part on the bottom was letting in the...

    Disco 2 Drag link

It's already central as it is and both wheels match so if I disconnect drag link and attach center joint first then adjust the end joints to suit and lock in place then do track rod it will be okay and not require adjusting? Just seemed worth the ask! Thanks james

Disco 2 Annoying not floating switch

Just to top the problems off this week with my D2 the float switch has decided it doesn't want to float. Can't find any switches that are less than 30 quid. Which seems like a massive waste, could probably make one cheaper.. so question is anyone managed to reseal one or make float some other...

    Disco 2 Drag link

Hi guys, Does changing the drag link assembly affect the tracking of wheels? Or can I just unbolt the drag link and track rod and rebolt on new one? I'm looking at buying the whole assembly as it seems easier than replacing the end joints for not much diffirence in price? Mot guy reckons half an...

    Disco 2 Dreaded mot faults

I pulled up the origional like an idiot to see how to get at the svs which shows taking the side opposite the pump off to access the pcb whereas I did the b option like you said (way better) so undid all those for nada. The rubber mounts are really awkward to get out when you don't disconnect...

    Disco 2 Dreaded mot faults

Sounds like hose is the way to go; mines barely a seep tbh he was just picky. Fixed abs tonight the guide was good cept where it says take off the front 8 bolts which you don't need for mod b haha. Wad a pig for bottom bolts went back together in half the time though. If I'd known so easy (and...

    Disco 2 Dreaded mot faults

Ah I see That must be why get away with it on defenders since they're extra/optional not always fitted don't need kinda thing. It does make a big diffirence though you're right my friend fitted some on his 90 stops it bouncing like a boat as much

    Disco 2 Dreaded mot faults

Ah that makes it seem super simple don't even need to get a particular end to earth either will work looking at that since its just set resistances and switches. Howcome when I looked up amigos tons if posts on sensors and hubs and all sorts this looks like a far easier and more likely issue to...

    Disco 2 Dreaded mot faults

Ah I got told to swap one you had to do the other aswell to do with fault codes or something? If that isn't the case even better. Can you put in static arb's and disconnect the ace entirely? Because I quite like the bags over springs, I know you have the possibility of them popping but they're...

    Disco 2 Dreaded mot faults

Ah I was looking at that, I just skipped the bit that said modulator! So that makes sense, I saw the part about brake fluid I think it sounds more likely electrical since it doesn't always come up, usually after afew bumps or heavy braking, basically when things get moved about which lines up...

    Disco 2 Dreaded mot faults

Looked up that fix, hope it is that it seems pretty simple to fix, just a variable resistor one end to ground one end to yg, few crimps be sorted! Just looks annoying to get at haha. Thanks for the advice

    Disco 2 Dreaded mot faults

It has come up with varying lights too sometimes just abs but mostly three amigos was hoping they'd stay hidden for test but oh well

    Disco 2 Dreaded mot faults

Thanks for the reply I didn't realise he'd only put valve on the paper and when I realised could be shuttle or solenoid valve they were closed so I couldn't check! All he said was a valve inside the abs pump? I'm not too familiar with the newer fandangle electrics in cars but I can solder so...

    Disco 2 Dreaded mot faults

Hi guys took the D2 for its mot today, was hoping the three amigos would stay silent but sadly they popped up and counted as a fail! surprise since the defenders not sorted yet I actually need to fix it soonish, he diagnosed it and it came up as a abs valve problem. Two questions one...

    Central locking to Safari Door

I can't remember the thread designation but there's one on here where someone did this, basically all it required was a hole in bottom of the lock section on the safari door. Didn't look hard at all. He ran it through the wiper conduit.cant remember how it came down. Think it went inside of the...
