On the NAS KV6 you need to break off a piece of metal that gets in the way I did that to get the alloy housing made by kaiser fit. I would use the land rover housing otherwise. I too had my thermostat fail shut previously.

Did you try to use two hose clam (jubliy clips you call them in the uk I think) and 4 tie wraps to make sure the barrel connection is solid like Hippo did? How much more diagnostics do you want to do? Have you thought of doing pressure tests like I mentioned here...

Did you try testing the sensor at the TCM connection instead of at the barrel connection? This would confirm if you do have an open circuit or not.

The TCM (EAT ECU)would throw a DTC Error code if that sensor was open circuit. P0720 Vehicle speed sensor out of range From Rave

If you vehicle speed sensor is open circuit, the TCM would through up a DTC code. I hope this is not it, that sensor is deep inside the transmission and not near the solenoids. There was a campaign for the vehicle speed sensor, read my post here...

Any updates on this ? I have found that solenoids can fail mechanically but still test fine electrically so I wanted to know the results of your current test before going there
