SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

Right, the short answer is this: Looking at the pin in question on the SLABS ECU, here's what you see in 'idle' condition, ignition at position 2: (It's a 50% duty cycle, 25Hz 12volt square wave as expected). The arduino (as expected) cannot manage to trigger any exciting behaviour...

    disco 2 inhibiting ACE pump.

It's not a bad way that it was conceived, but if only they had used sensible connectors on the block and sensible pipe routing, then it would be fun! I want to find the guy who tapped the ACE block for conventional hydraulic fittings. I could use that done to mine, the front pipes are held...

    disco 2 inhibiting ACE pump.

I don't THINK so, as the non-ace disco has an idler pulley fitted instead. But a definitive answer should be along shortly ;-)

    Hi could any1 help me

    So, it's not really a disco 3 then, is it? It'll be a Disco 1 300TDI...!

SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

Havent had the time yet... Hopefully this weekend I'll connect it up and see what happens!

SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

It's RF and works like a key fob in that its coded to the bcu. Life would be far too easy otherwise ;-)

SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

Probably going to be next weekend before I do, because I am away from home this week and I had some grief last week getting the air susp off the bump stops in the cold after everything had been jacked up (comp duty cycle exceeded...!) Last thing I need is to break the car here so I can't drive...

SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

FWIW, here's the code for the arduino to generate the SLS signals.

SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

Oops, just reread my post. Meant square wave, not sine wave, obviously!

SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

The three piccys attached show the PIC generating a 25Hz sine wave with 50%, 25% and 75% duty cycles. With a bit of luck, this should make the SLABS ecu send the air suspension up and down. I will have a look and see if the SLABS pin has a 50% cycle 25hz wave on it to begin with, and if so, I...

    Clock light

It's a bulb, you will need a couple of credit cards cut up to persuade the clock unit to pop out. Have a look around, you'll find instructions :-)

SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

Sure :-) FWIW, the solution will involve an Arduino :-)

SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

Hi Sierrafery - that is just the information I need. I can easily generate a 25Hz square wave, and use pulse width modulation. What I think I will do is put a switch on the rear body panel by where I put my trailer socket so I can press up/down when hitching up. I'll update with what I...

SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

Hi guys, I am trying to see if it is possible to wire in a SLS raise/lower switch for my Disco 2. I don't want the expense/hassle of a wireless remote, so am looking to see if I can wire something in. I know I could do something dirty direct to compressor/valves, but the nicer way would be...

Disco 2 parts query - anyone with microcat?

Thanks again guys! I will look myself online next time!

Disco 2 parts query - anyone with microcat?

Hi guys, Quick parts query if you could help! Are the front ARB drop links on a discovery2 the same, regardless of whether you have ACE or conventional ARBs? I'm assuming SLS doesnt make a difference to the front ARB drop links! Cheers, David

    Front springs - which ones?

Hi guys, I have a 2001 td5 disco with SLS and ACE. I have just bought some new standard terrafirma shocks for all round and I want some new front springs too. However I don't want any lift, happy with the stock suspension height. Any suggestions about what springs would do this nicely at a...

TD5 - skidding noises on corners!

I hope not! My selector doesn't have the diff lock option, whether it's actually present on the txfer box or not I don't know as I've never looked. The light certainly ISNT on on the dash...!

TD5 - skidding noises on corners!

Aye, that makes a bit of a difference, but even on the correct pressures the squealing continues :-( I did wonder whether new front shocks/springs might do it... Another thought was radius arm bushes at the front, but I'm not entirely sure and would rather get it right the first time than...

TD5 - skidding noises on corners!

Hi guys, I'm after a bit of help :-) My TD5 Disco makes skidding noises on going round corners, either direction. The handling doesn't seem too bad, and it isn't related to acceleration. Even going round corners at a relatively sensible speed makes it sound like a boyracer skidding...
