    Programmable ecu td5

I'm being a bit nosy, see, wondering if there's a small business opportunity in turning non-flashable ones into flashable ones that people can buy maps for ;-)

    Programmable ecu td5

Yeah, but surely the actual flashing interface of the chip isn't exposed itself over OBD. The ECU must read the command, the data, then write it into the chip. Does the nonflashable ECU have that routine?

As in, the new nanocom can upload maps? I guess, what I'm trying to drill down into is this: Does the ECU have the software capability to update itself, just that the chip is read only? If so, simply replacing the chip with a similarly programmed one but which is writeable would be enough :-)

    Programmable ecu td5

Building on from my last question, if you send your ECU to td5alive or someone else, who fits a programmable chip, is it then flashable via OBD?

    Heavy Duty Springs

    Or just air suspension <ducks>

    Programmable ecu td5

Is the process of making a non-programmable ECU programmable simply the art of replacing the PROM with an EEPROM, or is there far more to it than that?

orange light comeing on under rpm gauge disco 2

You won't know any more without a fault code reader eg nano com/hawkeye. But yeah, it's ACE. Start by checking fluid level

    annoying knock?

Or it could be the prop donut depending on when it happens... But most likely watts linkage.

self levelling suspension? Or ACE, depending on which way the arrows are going. pic would be handy.

    Disco 2 air suspension problem

Plus, if you're heavily overloaded for dive gear for a long weekend, with air suspension, it won't look like it when the police go past :lalala:

    air suspension

That's quite normal. They're definitely audible. Not sure why it's not been noticed before though..!

    Disco 2 air suspension problem

And the usual comment. If you're going to fix it, do it now when it involves changing bags. If you wait about too long, the compressor will burn itself out, then the economics of repair are much worse.

Mr Mig Farnborough Hampshire - review

Don't know him, probably never will. But if MIG welding isn't something he's good at, calling himself Mr Mig is a little ill advised ;-)

Dunno if it helps but I am in Middlesbrough a fair bit, if that's near enough to be worth your while... Hopefully someone might be nearer but it's a start

SLS Suspension Controller kits available :-)

Hi Guys, I've finally got my SLS controller kits ready to ship for those who are interested! As a brief summary, this gives you a wired switch to let you control the height of the rear air suspension on the Disco2, by mimicing the signal from the Land Rover OEM suspension remote...

Recommend a Disco to a newbie

The other plus of a diesel (well, less TD5 to be fair) is that the engine/running side of things is more waterproof than a V8, if you expect to be wading..

David pye's SLS lowering suspension kit with pictures

Hi Jay, Thanks indeed for the feedback and the photos, it's much appreciated :-) Good work on the install, and well done for the extra work to get the up/down switch working vertically! David

When I had this, it was because the wastegate arm on the turbo actuator was seized. But there are quite a few other reasons. That one's a cheap one to test for and fix though!
