    Meet Noel

What a plonker. I mean why on earth did I think I could do that on my own. I mean yes, the roof is easy to pick up on your own, but getting it off was a whole different ball game. A quick phone call saw a willing volunteer arrive in minutes and the roof was off! Next up was the rear panels...

    Meet Noel

Got in late so; Remaining bolts removed this evening. Gave them a good soak in penetrating oil last night so they didn't put up too much of a fight. Tomorrow evening, I intend to lift the roof and get the rear stripped off.

Much advice needed! (WARNING, NEWBIE IDIOT!!!!)

If nothing else this thread has entertainment value.

    Meet Noel

Finally finished Noel's temporary 'workshop'. Removed the doors and safari roof (left sitting in place for the moment), heading removed. The main roof is just about ready to come off, just 4 bolts temporarily holding it on. Hopefully this week will see the rest of the rear body come off and...

Much advice needed! (WARNING, NEWBIE IDIOT!!!!)

Yep, a resto will cost you a lot of money. I originally thought 6k would be enough for Noel. Ive pretty much done that on the chassis and bulkhead alone. Don't even consider one if you have very limited funds.

    Spare parts

South Kent. I've been out of touch with landrovers for a few years, the spare parts place I used to use no longer exists. Shame as they were very good and supplied bearmach gear.

Much advice needed! (WARNING, NEWBIE IDIOT!!!!)

How long has it been in Norway? Given the amount of salt on the roads it will be rotten. I've holidayed in Norway for the last 12 years and any car that is remotely old is rotten.

Much advice needed! (WARNING, NEWBIE IDIOT!!!!)

What about doing a chassis and bulkhead change on a land rover you bought blind having no experience of doing either? Stupid? Crazy? Mad? Or maybe, just maybe, so passionate about the green oval you just have to do it to get another one back on the road? My advice to the op is as long as it's...

    Spare parts

Am I correct in thinking that a manufacturer that sounds like British Parts is to be avoided?

    Spare parts

As the title really, where do you all get your spare parts from and is there an exploded diagram that lists all the correct part numbers? I'm sorry if this has been asked a thousand times, but we were all new here once.:( Ps, I do use the search function :D

Series 3 Repair or replace? And what to be getting on with.

It's funny, it's the big stuff that's daunting. The fiddly stuff is where the fun comes in. Hours studying the best way of doing it then applied logic to make it happen. I'm a carpenter by trade and love the challenge of awkward jobs. It's it's easy it's boring. Shirl

Series 3 Repair or replace? And what to be getting on with.

Totally get where you are coming from. Especially with abandoned projects. Fortunately, or unfortunately, I'm too bloody stubborn to be defeated. I'd rather spend a fortune to prove I can do something rather than give up! A fool and his money springs to mind:D I've no kids to spend upon, so Noel...

Series 3 Repair or replace? And what to be getting on with.

Hi @nickjaxe Not annoyed me at all This seems to be a problem with forums, especially new people. You can not see facial expressions to judge their reactions. I'm quite lucky in that I've got the cash to do it right, I want to do it on my own (with guidance from landyzone members) and as a...

    Series 3 Galvanised chassis

Richards chassis ordered. It's a 5 month lead time for an Owen bulk head. Are they worth waiting for Vs other manufacturers? I only want to be doing this once!
