My 90 is currently being rebuilt and shall be undergoing a full re-spray. So far I was adamant that I will not change colour (Conniston green) but I am a bit bored of it and it happens to be one of those colours that reacts horribly to strong sunlight. I am at a total loss as at what to choose...

It can't be too difficult. You may need to remove the front grille to access the bolt heads and undo the bolts with a socket, ratchet and suitable extension.

What turboman said. Use good oil and change it whenever it needs to be changed. In my opinion, 6000 miles is too much for a 300tdi. a maximum of 4000 or 6 months, whichever comes first.

I had the same issue with my 300tdi once. Sudden failure of lift pump and clouds of white smoke. Replaced lift pump, smoke was gone.

I have never done it but it's certainly not a bad idea.

I didn't bother to read all the posts but I have the same issue and googled it some time ago. There's nothing you can do apart from live with it or change the switch and hope that the replacement doesn't have the same problem. BTW, the switch installed in my vehicle is a Lucas item, not a...

If I were you I would also check the thin pipe that goes from the thermostat housing to the top of the radiator to the reservoir. See if it's blocked. The rising levels in the reservoir could be due to blockage in that pipe.

Hi Barbados, My 90's a 1989 model fitted with a 300tdi and R380. It shall be going in for a makeover at the end of January and I'll get the electric windows done at the same time. I won't be doing the installation myself though.
