Well lesson learned this evening what a load of crap the britpart air bags are put the rears on as they seemed the harder choice to do and put it all back together and neither side air pipe fittings seal :mad: then to top it off I now have diesel dripping off my sump that's left a puddle within...

On the bottom on the backside of the pump there is another plug of I remember rightly that does the advance for the pump when my fusebox decided it was going to play up on the engine ecu side that used to click repeatedly might be that one , possible that the backwards connection has something...

I don't have nanocom ,will invest in one at some point currently only have my snapon scanner hence the EAS bits being sorted with you :cool:

Yer it is a manual diesel one I am half aware that they can be bit of a pain to remove the selector box , but would be nice to have it right :D

So I got to the compressor rebuilt and all back in , got to take it for a drive last night and found a few more issues ( it is a land rover product after all);) for some reason when I turn the ignition on it says catalyst overheat see manual , don't see how it thinks that as the diesels don't...

could well be earthing issues , or a partially broken live supply, broken outer sheild and the wires gone green and not letting a good current through the wire but have seen cheap fuse holders go green and cause similar , crappy connections and crimps, burnt and stuck relays could cause similar...

is kind of annoying as i plan to keep the green dse as my daily but its very basic compared to my black springy one which i plan to use as a offroad toy and make it a bit more capable than it already is, but i certainly prefer the options in the black one ( decent stereo , buttons for the seats...

there is plenty of us that can help does sound like a rub through issue or similar, has it been wired properly with relays? sounds a stupid question but have seen plenty of really bad wiring jobs over the years :eek:

are the runners and seals all clean ? would be the first thing to check open it up and check that its not getting jammed on a load of dirt thats stopping it from doing its full travel

when i picked my second one it wasnt till i got home i realised how much was missing in spec compared to my springy one , manual seats not electric , no sub or cd changer , thought the dse would of been higher spec than the dt

I would say that they have been done recently as there is no sign of perishing on the fronts at all where as the backs are absolutely hanging and certainly wouldn't want to put any weight on the tow bar that's for sure

So after some more swearing and plug cleaning and swapping to the compressor that was on my sprung one I have got it to lift and cycle through all of the hieghts , the rear airbags are in a pretty bad state and very perished, so will renew them and rebuild one of my compressors so it's actually...

What's the best budget friendly option for diags , only want it to do the EAS have seen those leads / software on fleabay are they any good (I do have a laptop that's got a serial port ), or is there better options ??

If I go into the live data section all the data is there ie height overide enabled and registers me pressing buttons etc and I can see all the height values etc , so not sure , surely if Comms was lost I wouldn't be able to connect to it ?
