You can buy the connectors for the loom on eBay fairly cheaply, then you just crimp them on, plug and play.
You need to ensure you get the polarisation correct as the replacements are diodes and will not work in reverse like a conventional bulb.
There's nothing wrong with doing that... it's a damn fine idea. What you are in affect buying is a legitimate Vin number... see what you have as a donor vehicle.
I only carry one adjustment tool. A huge one! Never needed a lil un!
I've got a pelicase, with some socket trays in. Keeps everything nicely organised. I'll take a picture tomorrow.
The 110 lives!
10 days after starting the real strip down tonight it started.
We completely rewired it after fabricating our own dashboard and loom.
Tomorrow morning we plan to finish the brake lines and take her out!
Photos to follow.
Big couple of days. Started with trailing arm and spring seat renewal- mine were buggered.
Worked some aluminium repair patches in preparation for refitting the tub.

Last night the engine, gearbox and bulkhead went back on.

Some progress made this evening on the 110. Photos to follow tomorrow. Engine is now out, EGR blocked and a 74 degree thermostat fitted.
Tomorrow I plan to get the body off, and maybe even have a rolling polybushed chassis by COP.
I'd agree, we all clearly love them dearly, but if we are brutally honest with ourselves, they are money pits! I have kept an account of how much the rebuild is costing and the figure is sickening!
My brother and I are, as above; converting a LR 90 to a 300tdi and rebuilding on a new galvanised chassis whilst concurrently putting a galvanised chassis onto my 300tdi 110.
We will keep words to a minimum but post lots of pictures.

Yes that's the one, it's the stretch 400m S of the PP that is worth driving.
There is also a series of BOATs 2km NW of Codford St Peter in a H configuration. not on the plain but still worth driving. Northern aspect of the Eastern Track is reasonably good.
