    Impact Wrench Views ?

I bought one a couple of years ago and its great - at the moment i only really use it for undoing wheel nuts - i live in Sweden and we have summer and winter tyres, so is something that really saves time vs doing it with a normal wrench. I originally bought it mainly for changing our cars tyres...

Faulty fuel and water temperature guage

I know you said ground is fine....but i am fairly sure the ground goes through the sensor in the tank - its resistive, so the resistance to ground changes what the gauge shows. I had/have the same issue after a galv chassis - i was planning on changing temp gauge to a mechanical one anyway, so...

Travall Dog Guard on a 90 Hardtop

Potentially I could.....however at the moment I don't have a welder, nor really the time to fabricate something myself.

Travall Dog Guard on a 90 Hardtop

Hello, I need to fit a load guard between the drivers seat and the back of my 90, so basically the bit between the bulkhead and the roof. I've had a look around and Travall Dog Guard seems quite good, and postage to Sweden seems reasonable too. I have one question, that i've sent to Travall...

    Interesting Foglight problem

I don't have any choice....as far as Sweden is concerned (just realised i didn't mention that bit :) ), the landy is designed for goods rather than people. If i had seats in the back it would be a people car (personbil), but since i don't have seats it's a light goods vehicle (lätt lastbil)...

    Interesting Foglight problem

So, i had another go today, and now all seems well again. Unfortunately, i am not 100% sure what the problem was.... I tested the lamps before i started, just to make sure that the fog light telltale was indeed still not working, whilst the actual external light was. That was still the same...

    Interesting Foglight problem

It sounds like i'll have to do that :( Do you mean just disconnecting the switch, and putting 12v into the bit from the loom that will not be live? (im assuming if i use a multi meter one bit of the connector that goes to the switch will be live, and the other not.

    Interesting Foglight problem

So I swapped the reverse and fog light and the issue remains. To confirm, the fog light itself works....it's just the light on the dash. When I searched before posting it seems the most common issue is either both dash and actual light bit working ....or both being on all the time. I checked...

    Interesting Foglight problem

Thanks ... it's certainly easier to read with colours too Vs black and white in Haynes. i'll check contacts again tonight....just found out that i need to swap sides for the fog light and reverse light....so see what happens with this issue when i do that

    Interesting Foglight problem

Hello, It's been a while since I've posted, hopefully will be back posting more again soon. I'm preparing my 1992 90 for a registration inspection, so was going through things making sure everything was ok. One thing i've noticed is the rear Fog light.....the light itself works, but the...

    1989 90 Rebuild

Vagueness in steering I'd look at the steering ujoints - make sure they're all nice and tight

Hub leaking oil on the wheels

All depends how blocked it is. Unscrew the fitting (probably a banjo bolt) on top first and take a look - you may found its in the fitting that it's blocked. Otherwise, you'd just need to play it by ear.

Hub leaking oil on the wheels

Possibly blocked breather in top of axle, so as axle is heated by weather the air expands and ends up pushing past the seals in hubs instead. You need to unblock the breather on top, I'd replace seals as they could be knackered, and perhaps bearings while you're there

    Painting back of defender

the tow bar? I'd just get some hammerite, making sure you rub down to get rid of most of the rust before applying paint

    Headlight problem. Help please.

If that doesn't show anything then I'd check that the earth is good on the faulty side.

Advice needed - removing rear lower link chassis bush

This is the bush that has the rear trailing arm going to the rear axle? Presuming you've removed the trailing arm, then you should be able to pull it out. Pretty sure the bush comes in two halfs, with a metal tube through the middle of both.
