Discovery 1 steering box in discovery 2

Take the box out, take to local garage to apply some heat and the steering arm will come off. Fit a decent seal kit and job done. Or cut a slot in the arm with a grinder, bear in mind a good steering arm isn't cheap. I broke a SP puller the first time, bought the proper puller the 2nd time and...

    Disco 1 300TDI No Start

Not sure if it's been mentioned but it's quite a good idea to run clear fuel hose from filter to injection pump, good for keeping an eye out for air bubbles. Good you've got it running.

    Water pump bolts TDI

They go through the ali water pump, through timing chest cover into the block. So, bit of everything.

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Did it on my R380, you do have to slide the transfer box backwards a bit, so it's almost out but no heavy lifting needed.

How did you feed the loom into the cab?

Down the side of the snorkel and across the wing and through the massive gap between the back of the bonnet/wing/bulkhead. Works on a Ninety anyway, bulkhead slightly different on a TD5

I'm new here, could I get some advice with a vibration problem

Can you feel it through the steering wheel, seat, floor. I would have thought they had checked engine and gearbox mounts.

I'm new here, could I get some advice with a vibration problem

That sounds quite odd as most vibration get worse with more revs, presumably only when you are driving. Did they list the checks they carried out? Something loose in the battery compartment?

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Took the injection pump of the tdi to send it away. Changed the water pump gasket for genuine Land Rover as the previous one has lasted about 100 miles. Noticed rear brake cylinder leaking. Had a spare fitted that but the brake pipe broke, had a spare but seems like it may be off a 110 or...

Series 3 Loud knocking sound from the engine when running.

When you say it stalled do you mean it broke down because there is no oil in the engine? Best follow the advice in the post above this one.

How did you feed the loom into the cab?

My son's light bay comes down the snorkel into the engine compartment. Feed is taken from auxiliary fuse box, relay next to it, switch is on the floor next to the seat. The loom came with the light bar as its pretty powerful. Various other wires have gone through the grommet in the bulkhead...

    Smoking and low power.

Didn't look into that much but the "stage" seems quite random from one company to another with regards to bhp. Most state upgraded turbo, decat, egr delete, intercooler upgrade necessary. In the past I have taken bhp figures with a grain of salt. Really you would need to put you vehicle on a...
