Give it a start but keep the bonnet up just in case. Nowt worse than a hole in your bonnet. Just kidding 😉 if it’s a seized engine the starter won’t turn it. When I smashed the top end to bits with a snapped timing chain the starter wouldn’t budge anything. 👍

I’m sure you have to change it at the speedo end. There are a few recalibration services out there. Not sure if you have to know what your ratio requirement is but they will know.

I was thinking a rub over with wire wool and a spot of superglue and baking soda. Worked for me.

Can you see the leak ir is it buried in the fins.

They never last so it’s not worth going to town on them. The dimples for the studs should be bare steel so I’ll likely rig up an overly complicated jig and lap them in so the salt can run up under the enamel. 🙄

I’d have been happy to pop over with a few plumbers smoke tablets and a blank cartridge or two to make an entrance but I’m on holiday that week. 🙁 Hope the lad gets sorted.

Worth replacing the chassis before you start. It’s going to be a money pit anyway so you may as well start spending on the big stuff and getting over the shock early.
