Ok chaps, we now have an option to help the site out which enables you to opt out of ads and other such things... announcement in news section here. It's just a Full Member subscription for a year which will really help us out. The bigger contributors also get these perks at over 10,000 posts...

I wish it was even close to £100 a month!! There is possibly more to hosting this website than you may realise. It is large, the database containing the posts alone is huge, many many images, and the amount of people on site at one time including hundreds of guests requires some processing heft...

Probably not, but enough reports and I might just get the polish out for the rarely used ban hammer.

Absolutely no idea!

Thousands of little hammers, all bashing away at the evil IP addresses of spammy gits trying to abuse the server. Not sure what the end game was for them but they where reloading pages over and over, trying to crash the server or something. Pretty impressive that although it slowed down...

Fixed and fixed!

There is definitely something wrong, it's been slow all day. Will investigate with hammer in hand. Wish me luck.

Servers ****ed, we maxxed out storage so hanging on a thread. Upgraded hardware is ordered, but now in the hands of our hosts, they are usually pretty good so hope it's soon.

I bashed it with my biggest hammer, twice. Hopefully will work better again for at least a day or two.

Recovered from yesterday mornings backup. It's a scheduled backup at 2 in the morning each day, unfortunately the drive crashed before todays backup ran, so we lost all of yesterdays posts.
