Thanks for the reply, where did you find the info on the plate size needed? Did you weld the plates to the chassis or just bolt them to the floor and wings? What is the test called at the DVLA? Loads of questions I know

What do you mean by worthless? Problem I have is I don't want to spend huge amounts of money on them but I do have time and raw materials.

Has anyone fitted discovery 2 third row seats into the back of a defender. These will be a last resort for short journeys/about the town. Looking for fitted pictures or info on seatbelt mountings and plates fitted bellow wings and floor for strength. Any help greatly appreciated

My 2.25 petrol needs replacing in my series 3. I have the chance of a good cheap 2.5 na from a defender. I know I will need to wire up heater plugs and a switch for the diesel pump. I will also need to adapt the battery tray and driver side engine mount. Does this engine bolt onto my series...

I am looking into doing the same conversion. Does the engine bolt straight on to the box? Or do you have to swap bits over? Also where did you put the fuel return? And I'm going from a 2.25 petrol what did you do about the exhaust manifold?
