I've had my bill of my normally reasonable priced mechanic for doing a leak back test on my injectors and changing my cranckcase breather to the B.M.W. one and taking my E.G.R. off and fitting a bypass kit he also took a faulty injector out and put in a reconditioned one.... I supplied all parts...

Mine has cost me so far.. purchase £650. 1 recon injector £105 S.S. E.G.R. bypass £40 B.M.W. P.C.V. £61 4 General grabber A.T. £370 fitted Recon V.C.U. and bearings £310 fitted.. Thats the story so far but the single injector hasn't really cured the tickover problem plus I'm changing...

Took mine down to Bell engineering last night and had them change the V.C.U. and bearings for one of their reconditioned units with new bearings..while I was there Austin also changed a diff mounting for me ! I have got to say a great service from Ken and Austin well worth the money in my...

Hi are any of the engine components such as injectors High pressure diesel pump,starter motor e.t.c e.t.c. usable on a freelander 1 td4 as I know where there is a scrap rover 75 with a sweet engine !! thanks in advance !

He had got a set somewhere but he couldn't find it ! so seeing as he's a diesel mechanic....he thought he'd better buy a new kit lol Hopefully that will be the Engine sorted :D Then it's on to new boots and recon vcu :)

Just spoke again to my mechanic hes just on way to buy a kit for himself for removing these injectors £300 !!! :eek:

Hi guy's just a little update on my TD4 ! I had my mechanic do a leakback test on the injectors......I think we may just have solved the problem... :) All we have to do now is remove the faulty injector a lot easier said than done......!!!!!! :eek::eek: Has anybody near Tamworth in...

Think i'll get my diesel mechanic to test injectors after I've done the cam sensor test and cleaned the EGR valve :D

Here she is !! :D went and fetched her 60 odd mile pull's really well cruising at 70 on the motorway just a bit lumpy on tickover but once you press the accelerator it clears and runs perfect no smoke or anything :der:
