it turns out that the indicators also are not working - dash lights up but no indicators flashing outside...

That's good advice thank you. Have found an engine for about a grand with a rec company that do a basic service and offer a 3 month warranty so will go with that. Going to have you put her indoors on the game to pay for it all but needs must.

Sounds plausible. It's with the garage now so will see. It seems my dogs and this Disco are working together to ensure my monthly paycheque is spent only on repair/vets bills..

No it doesn't get to that. Just being recovered to the garage now. There is deisal coming out the back from about 50 yards down the road so looks like a fuel pump or something went?
