Finally got the bolts out! In the end I had to use a hammer and chisel to break off the housing around the bolt, then use Irwin bolt grip on the remaining stump. The final bolt looked like it had been bent before it was screwed in originally. That was fun! :mad:

Can't hammer them on without removing the radiator! Tried tapping them on with the small amount of swing I can get to them, but to no avail.

Trying to get the water pump off after it failed. All the bolts are out bar the bottom two long bolts which are stuck solid. I've snapped a spanner, split a hex bit and finally, rounded the ends off. I bought a set of Irwin bolt grips and they have been of sod all help.:mad: Any advice...

Over the last year my 300tdi manual has averaged 32 mpg, on 25% svo. Lowest was 29 mpg last Xmas/January, highest was 37mpg in November - that was cruising on the motorway at 56-60 on Asda's finest diesel!

The Series 2a Owners Manual, and various LR adverts for the Series 2 and 2a have it as Land-Rover throughout. The Series 3 parts manual has Land Rover. So mine's a Land-Rover (mostly).

Just bought from eBay. Have driven it precisely 2/3rds of a mile from previous owner to MOT. It failed miserably on brakes, having been sat for a couple of years doing nowt. Hopefully I'll get it on Wednesday, take it home and start tarting her up! Needs a repaint and what have you...

600 miles on a full tank. Over the last 2000 miles I averaged 31.5 mpg; best was 32.3 on 'proper' diesel, worst was 29.3 mpg on a 25% mix with svo (at 90p a litre). I am now trying 50% svo. I have an 89 litre / 19.5 gallon tank
