    Diff and Autobox oils

Would be more inclined to go with Rave (2L for a change) than motorfactors, after my local landy spares supplier wanted to sell me 12L of Land rover branded ATF for an auto gerabox oil change...thought £115+ was a bit steep just for a gearbox oil change! :)

Anyone near Swansea with a GEMS P38?

Not sure of the best way to describe it...it's a physical stutter from the engine, at motorway speeds she'll drop the revs really quickly and pick back up again so you get a juddery ride, seemingly random. Don't think it's anything mechanical as it's very intermittent and I can drive all day...

Anyone near Swansea with a GEMS P38?

I'm havin a few troubles diagnosing some running probs with my P38 and don't wanna spend a bundle on sensors without knowing for sure they aint working. Would be great to be able to compare what I'm getting from the OBD on mine with a car that's running nicely, so thought I'd put a cheeky post...

    Heater Matrix o rings

I had to do this not long after getting my P38, went for the "easier" method instead of removing the dash. Took best part of a day as well as most of the skin from my knuckles, was cursing the hell out of the range rover most of the way through but glad I got it done...if you do try it yourself...

    MAF readings

Thanks for the readings rewmer, good to have something to compare to. Will try cleaning it up again and see if that makes any change to the data.

    MAF readings

Hi folks, Apologies if this has been covered at some point already, have been searching but can't find the right info. Have been having some probs with intermittent power loss and stuttering on my GEMS V8, originally ruled out the MAF after initial diagnostics. Still having some probs so...

    P38 Electric memory wing mirrors

Same prob here....Driver side works fine, passenger side dips but doesn't come back up. I just set the dip position and driving position to the same level until I can get chance to have a proper look at it.

    Ruptured EAS pipes

Cheers for the info pal, might have to think about doing that at some point to make sure this doesn't happen again!

    p38 upgrade wishlist

Cheers for the link, that's a handy bit of kit...Obviously improves the clearance on the front dramatically, with a winch and skid plate fitting too! A bit of a toss up between practicality and maybe not looking as good!

    Ruptured EAS pipes

Cheers for the replies, you live 'n learn! :) Didn't realise how bad the exhaust was until I took it off. Anyone confirm the pipes on the back are 8mm? I can see that they have a heat shield/wrapping until about halfway along the chassis, should this follow all the way to the back air bag...

    p38 upgrade wishlist

Uprated EAS bags are on my list at some point! :) I've been looking for skid plate options for my P38 but not seen anything decent, have you got a link for the ones you've seen Pedrover? This the sort of thing Chrisfrain is talking about? swaybar disconnect

classic 3.9 v8 (removing centre exhaust box)

Just recently replaced the centre box on my 4.6 P38, would have put a straight through on if I could have found a cheap supplier but no luck on that front. Was lookin at a page on rangerovers.net a few days ago about custom air filter and housing, more important things on my to-do list but...

    Ruptured EAS pipes

Hey folks, had a bit of a mishap in the week and was hoping to get some input on what might have caused it. Pic is worth a thousand words, this is just in front of the rear passengers wheel. Link in case the image doesn't show Edit: After lookin at it a bit more I reckon it might have been...

    P38 exhaust centre box - V8 vs 2.5 Diesel

Just thought I'd put a quick update in...centrebox fitted fine, it doesn't have the indentation for the radius arm nut but it's an inch clear anyway.

    P38 exhaust centre box - V8 vs 2.5 Diesel

Thanks for the replies, I'll get the old one off and see how well it fits.

    P38 exhaust centre box - V8 vs 2.5 Diesel

It's painful admitting when you make a mistake, but I make a habit of it so nothing new! The centre box on my V8 is lookin like swiss cheese, so ordered a cheap one off fleabay (tryin to get the car back into running shape without havin to remortgage)...me bein a muppet failed to check the part...

    P38 V8 Sump Gasket?

Well I'm still gettin to know the engine, so changing the gaskets won't cause too much probs hopefully. Is it a tricky job changing the valley gasket end seals? Is it worth putting a new inlet manifold gasket on at the same time? Or is it better to leave it alone unless I know it aint working...

    P38 V8 Sump Gasket?

cheers for more input. Thought I had less chance of screwing it up if there was a proper gasket I could use! ;) Need to change the rocker gaskets, gotta do an oil change soon so I'll drop the sump and re-do the seal...will check the seals/gaskets on the front a bit more thoroughly but most of...

    P38 V8 Sump Gasket?

Cheers for the reply. Will have a look at the front timing gasket, though it certainly seems to be leaking from the passenger side rocker cover and the sump seal. Anyone have any experience with removing/replacing sump gasket wise?
