    Stumbling V8!

I replaced the fuel pump a while back...not got a proper fuel pressure gauge, used an air pressure gauge and the pressure looked right (rising on acceleration). Have been putting off getting the LPG conversion because of this issue...I know it's probably not the smartest thing to do but I'm...

    very odd question

There is a sunroof drain point in the front wing between the wheel and the drivers door...couldn't imagine it holding that much water, but maybe worth checking.

    P38 Stumbling is back!

Gonna need to replace the lambda sensors at some point as these are a fair bit passed their age limit and they don't read as well as they should. She's still running closed loop, and couldn't imagine the lambdas being able to affect the running so much...but I might be wrong! :D Only other...

    P38 questions.!!

Just thought I'd put a pic on here of the airbags so u have a better idea what ur looking at: Airbag right in the middle of the pic, wheel arch liner removed...but if u stick ur head underneath you should be able to see how worn they are. Another test is to raise it up to extended...

    P38 Stumbling is back!

Cheers for more input guys, When the prob appeared I originally thought it was the MAF too, but have tried 3 MAF's and it's still does the same. After lookin at the symptoms I thought it prolly wasn't the MAF anyway as it judders more aggressively than just flat spots. Have replaced the fuel...

Should I buy this P38 or not? Can't decide!

Check the logbook for stereo code first, or failing that whip the headunit out...it's sometimes written on it if ur lucky and it's been out before. Failing that ring your local landy dealer for the code, they should give you the stereo unlock code...iirc they need either a serial number on the...

    Stumbling V8!

1 does it happen when hot or cold Both really. Though not all the time. 2 when is it at it's worst? Hot or cold? Seems to be more noticeable when hot, but obviously it gets up to temperature pretty quick. 3 when was it serviced last? Have serviced it myself recently (plugs, leads etc) 4 does it...

    Should I take the plunge??

Test everything you can get ur hands on basically...all the switches; windows, air-con, check the heater blows hot and cold, all seat electrics etc. Take the car down to access mode and then see how long she takes to rise to extended height. Also make sure you go through all the gears high and...

    Should I take the plunge??

One of the good things about the P38 is you have resources like this forum, helpful peeps who can give you pointers and advice with the repairs/maintenance. I'd be sceptical about a valet causing lights to come on, the P38 doesn't like water too much for sure...but a valet should be fine unless...

    Stumbling V8!

Cheers for the tip joe, will try and be a bit more active with the timing on the code reader!

    Should I take the plunge??

Any idea what the warning lights are? I think the main problem with the P38 comes up if you don't have much mechanical ability, getting repairs done by garage/indy can be silly money. There are plenty out there, I'd suggest taking quite a lot of time and look at as many as you can but steer...

    Stumbling V8!

Hey Joe, Cheers for the reply. I've got a bluetooth ODB reader which lets me get at least some of the data from the P38, I keep an eye on the error codes and the ECU registers nothing. Am always reluctant just to replace bits without knowing they're the cause, half the time cos they're bloody...

    P38 Stumbling is back!

Didn't think the EVAPs system would have that much of an effect on the system, something else for me to look at! :)

    P38 Stumbling is back!

Thanks for the input guys. Will have a look at getting another fuel cap, worth a try! :) Originally thought it was just crud in the tank due to age, but have changed the filter several times so then thought it might be water in the bottom of the tank...draining it and refilling it in the...

    P38 Stumbling is back!

It's a petrol V8 auto. I don't have any temp issues...have done lots of work on the car, new fuel pump and the fuel pressure is good. If I put my foot down she'll push through the stumbling but it'll return quickly enough when cruising or accelerating normally.

    Stumbling V8!

Hi guys, I've put a post in the P38 section, but thought I'd ask in this section as well if it's just a V8 issue. The P38 has been behaving itself for a while now but my stumbling problem is back. It started off fairly gently as just a very occasional sudden drop in revs, but it worsened...

    P38 Stumbling is back!

Hi guys, Well the P38 has been behaving itself for a while now, but after a few longish runs my old stumbling problem is back. It started off fairly gently as just a very occasional sudden drop in revs, but it worsened over time to the whiplash inducing stumble and surge buckaroo and stalling...

water leak, heater matrix, steamy windows

Air con is on as standard, the switch is to turn it off...so when the switch is lit, the air con is off. I don't use the air con on mine much anyway and it needs some attention, so don't know how much fluid is normal. I've seen quite a few posts about them blocking and overflowing so I guess...
