i recently noticed a severe vibration when accelarating at low speed in 3rd gear. On inspection i noticed that the lower engine tie rod had perished bushes allowing the engine to swing severely when under drive. I changed the faulty tie rod with a new one and the severe engine swing has gone...

I've actually been looking at a 2.5lt V6 from a later freelander model but i'm not sure what else i'd need to modify. I'd assume the gearbox would also have to come from the V6 model too? :confused:

I have a 1999 freelander 1, 2ltr di and was wondering if anyone had fitted or tried to fit a larger engine? If so which engine, from what, and what was the approximate cost?
