Delighted to say the S3 passed its MOT with no advisories. Doors now stay shut and the heater & fan work. I'm looking to sell. Any ideas where best to advertise.

I dont know the manufacturing date but I believe it to be a late 2.25 diesel. The cylinder head says HRC1353 and the engine number is 10J00338B

yes I did but it didnt help much - Unfortunately it appears that the m16x1 threaded hole in the cylinder head is already too big to be tapped out to 3/8" BSP, so I'm going to have to take it on the chin and buy a ERC9543 adapter. Shame LR chose M16x1 instead of M16x1.5 - a much more common...

I didnt realise later heads changed to "american" metric m16x1 (not M16x1.5) The adapter ERC9453 is about £50 !! :eek: (probably why it the heater was never connected ), it is x10 the price of the imperial - typical. Oddly the heater control valve is fitted at the front of the engine but the hose is blanked before the connection with the long pipe that goes to the back. The connector I bought is part number 624091 . Is that correct ?

Good to know it lasted 11 years. I doubt I'll still have the Freelander is another 11 years, but who knows; my old Disco 2 (2000 plate TD5 ) is still going strong it appears, according to on-line MOT data
