    R380's - what'll fit a TD5?

Cheers James, clutch pedal feels the same as it did before the loss of traction - I would've assumed that if I put in gear and started that it would engage drive if the clutch - hence my thought its the box that's gone. Si

    Disco 2 v Disco 200tdi for towing

I've had 200, 300 and TD5's - the best by far was the 200 but fitted with an R380 box and better ratio'd transfer box. Whilst the TD5 is more torquey, i've actually not enjoyed it as much on long hauls (with and without trailers) and found the fuel bill to be slightly worse than the older...

    R380's - what'll fit a TD5?

Been having gearbox issues for a while, and a nasty noise on startup (with clutch depressed) or on coming down the gears (especially 3 to 2, and 2 to 1). Last week, got halfway out onto a major A-Road roundabout and then had no drive at all - move the selector 1 through 5 no clutch at all...

    TD5 Newbie - doesn't feel right

Had the MAP sensor out today, and it was caked in crud. First run, rev'd smoothly through to 5K, awesome this is more like it I thought. Next run, gets "held back" around 3K, hmm, so this suggests a gremlin somewhere! Will get a new MAP and see if that's the culprit.

    TD5 Newbie - doesn't feel right

I think we can call me half sensible with the spanners :-) Thanks Buckshot - will give it a shufty when I can plan some downtime (currently covering just over 1000 business miles a week)

    TD5 Newbie - doesn't feel right

So after years of D1 ownership (several v8's, a 200 tdi, and a couple of 300's) i've moved up to a 2000 Td5. A few surprises - fuel economy worse than the 300, and shockingly - it doesn't seem to have the go of the 200! I tow regularly (I have to take an ISO cube of water to the horses every...
