where did you get the exhaust wrap from and how much did you need. How many times did you wrap it round (ive never used exhaust wrap before).

Well I wasn't going to say anything but I was thinking it may have been replaced. Just hoping I don't find any more nastys when I get the heads off!! those heat shields are a right pain aren't they. Don't think ill be putting them back might put exhaust wrap on them instead

Right im in the process of sorting the head gaskets going ok so far apart from a couple of stubborn bolts. When taking the plenum chamber off and inlet manifold the bolts were just hand tight ( I think someone has rushed a job) took valley gasket off( that had silicone sealer all over it. Now on...

best thing ive ever used on a windscreen or any glass is white vinegar and kitchen roll it will strip everything off your windscreen. cheap as well

well ive had the dye in the coolant and found my leak its coming from the left bank front cylinder head gasket. while im doing the head gaskets is there anything else I should consider doing while im in there?

yeah going to put a new rad on it wammers cos it isn't right just found coolant on the side of the centre console as well looks like its o rings time

The other thing I noticed yesterday was the bottom of the rad and the pipe from the thermostat to the rad were cold the top of the rad and all the other pipes were nice and hot :confused:

Well its either use the dye or replace every single component on the cooling system which works out rather expensive not just for the parts but more like the shopping trip to meadowhall for my wife so I could get away with spending that much money on my car:D

going to clean the old oil and crap off the sump and surrounding areas. system is only pressurised when it is hot when its cold there isn't any pressure at all. Do most garages have a static rig wammers.

1200 quid plus 600 for another engine its only an se model loads of other bodges on it as well total waste of money imho. Wammers they are 22" kahn alloys only look proportionate cos its on its bump stops.

No brian its worse than the other one pics make it look better than it is how much do you think it was bought for with an engine that ran on 2 or 3 cylinders and sounded more metallic than a heavy metal band.

That nearly looks as bad as the thing that's sat on my drive way for the last 6 months, which I hasten to add doesn't belong to me and was bought by a mate of mine against my advice.
