I'm definitely getting that picture and have revised the plan slighty to release some more funds... if i had £3 -£4 k to spend does anyone recon i could get a decent Td5 90 county?

thanks for the advice guys. so i'm om the look out for a normal 90 200tdi at around £900. Any guidance on the sort of mileage and age i should target? There's a couple of conversions projects i've found online ...i'm assuming the big cost items will be 1) roll bar / cage and 2) canvas hood...

So there's hope! any advice where to look and what to look for?! not sure what a 2.5 N/A is...?
