    All done and back in. Took the transmission shop all week to finish it. They had trouble finding the correct thickness of circlip At least having them do it I know it's (probably) correct. Half a dozen nuts left over and one large bolt. Curiously worrying.

    Yup. Speedo housing is off but I must have missed the clip on that side.

    I may have to admit defeat. I've undone all I can and tapped it as hard as I dare with a wooden mallet to no effect. Looks like S.E. Tranmissions is getting a box of bits and a begging look in the morning.

    I've bought an Ashcroft transfer box and I'm stripping down my old one to move the parts into the new one. I've reached this point and got stuck. how do I free these shafts from the box? I've removed the big circlip. Is there a site that gives instructions? The Haynes manual is unhelpful.
