    Bio Diesel is Bollocks

should have mentioned before, my Citreon Picasso 1.6HDI 110PS (I believe its common rail, pretty much the same engine as found in the Ford Focus) has now done circa 2000 miles on B100 (home brew) with no problems..... I hope I still make it home tonight now I've said that. And the wife's Pug...

why would you buy a Defender when you could.....

Interesting...not really thought of it like that. I'd been thinking along the lines of the Defender due to its amazing load capacity, only to find out the Disco matches it and gives a more comfortable ride. The other thing that appeals to me about the Def. is its a bit more of a statement, a...

    Bio Diesel is Bollocks

very interesting thread...... it does sound like the quality of the fuel is once again the problem (not the type of fuel, if you know what I mean). I found out the other week that the new 2007 Def runs on Bio (roughley 70% Bio), unfortunately this was only a short term test (200-300...

why would you buy a Defender when you could.....

have a Disco 3 for less? there must be reasons for having a Def. over a Disco? - but what are they.

    Biodiesel - Help needed

I would suggest you have a good look at resources for your oil first. then consider hiring the equipment rather than buying......I just might be able to help on that score.

Forecourt diesel prices haven't peaked yet...

you need to mix it with waste vegetable oil, not any old lard. almost forgot, you need to take the bubbles out too.

    why you shouldn't buy a 2007 defender...

 2 new gearboxes - what can't he drive:) that doesn't sound very promising. on the electrickery side and engine you'd have thought they'd be sorted if its from the Ford transit?

    bio diesel processor

I have bought my processor from green-fuels in Fareham. They also organised the course which I felt was essential and included using my processor to produce Bio. Excellant company to deal with and would highly recommend. good. luck.

    why you shouldn't buy a 2007 defender...

its properly disappointing to think there might be issues with the gear box and injectors. the tuff car seems like it might can sucumbed to the EU and gone a bit soft? I don't know, what next....they'll be making jails comfortable / welcoming. fecking unbelievable!

    why you shouldn't buy a 2007 defender...

come on....I really want to buy one (once I've found the funds) but surely there must be some snags with them? oh and I know they don't have the 12 seat configuration anymore but there's only 4 of us so shouldn't be too much of a problem.

    bio diesel processor

Scrounger, my understanding is as you say you can produce 2500 ltr / year duty free for your own use. You start selling it and believe you become a producer and don't benefit from the duty free element, I belive its 2500 ltr / premises and not person ie a family of four could not produce 10,000...

    why you shouldn't buy a 2007 defender...

other than they don't have flaps. are the new engines, gearboxes and the rest of it just as good or does new mean cheap and less robust? I knew the interior visually is a huge improvement but are they really an improvement overall?

    bio diesel processor

fare nuff. so back to my research.....:D If I were in a position right now to supply the stuff to yar door @ 85p / ltr would be be interested......bearing in mind there would be a minium delivery to your door step of about 300 ltr but possibly as much as 400ltr? and back to the 80p /...

    bio diesel processor

if you're doing it yourself I agree. but if you're buying the stuff from someone producing on bulk how much do you think they're buying the oil for in the first place. from what I can see if you buy 13 ton of waste oil you're looking at about 30-35p / ltr. add the 15p / ltr to produce plus all...

    bio diesel processor

assuming you've not made it yourself have you paid the duty on it? however I suspect thats not really your concern. 80p does sound rather cheap (where are you getting it from)? have you tested its ph value and water content by any chance, obviously a high ph / acid value wouldn't be...

    bio diesel processor

almost forgot to mention....once I'm sorted out you'd be much better off just giving me a call (if in and around the B'ham area) and I'll get you sorted for circa 85p.

    bio diesel processor

don't want to give all the trade secrets away..... just been on a 2 day course basically aimed at using my processor efficiently. which includes the health and safety (don't forget your messing with some nasty chemicals), the operation of the equipement, tasting the oil prior to...
