    Diesel engine oil

Sorry Canyon but you was an open goal, for the post i'd seen two minuits earlyer.... I recon it depends on the size of your leak and the size of your wallet, they recon synthetic is best , but most of the older designed l/r bmw engines will take almost anything. If you look in the front of the...

    Diesel auto or V8 auto?

If you can afford it the V8 petrol is the winner, anything else is a compromise of less power for less money. I think gas is ok if you can fuel up without hassel. So the question is how many miles are you likely to do in it?

    spares?

HHHHHaaa, Thanks for that. ...Though coincidently (RH picture on your link) I did get a Scorpion CVR stuck in a bog up to its turret once, that had to be air lifted out by a Chinoock, I didnt know they cost £8000 ph to run. Maybe thats why the loadmaster swore at me!

oh great.. now i've found an oil leak

I think a good tip is to put a bucket of sand in the boot, and when you feel the time is right you can just stick your head in it. Summer is a good time to fix things.

WOW, Thanks Sirus! The Rf unit on the left is the old one. With the black box in the rear load area being the possition as fitted. The white blobs are the stickers. (the fact that you cant see the colours is the fault of me and my camera).

    Flat Battery

Forgot to mention that the only real noticeable difference was the old one had a blue round sticker on it, and the new one had a green sticker!

    What coolant to use?

It would take just water on its own without coolant. BUT DONT DO IT. It is such a risk this time of year. Due to frost etc.Any coolant suitable for ali engines would do, buy a tester from the local car shop when you get your coolant it wont cost much and could save loads. I think mines got...
