thanks everyone. it does not seem to be the fuel pump, as the AA man checked it and it run normal. Also he checked the end of the pipe right behind the engine and he got socked in diesel whilst I tried to start it. will check filter and immobilizer maybe it helps. keep you posted...

well brilliant start in the weekend. Dropped yesterday the children at school and on the way back my LR TD5 was just running fine and just died. The yellow engine management light came on. Got it fired up again after a while and the same thing happened a few hundred yards down the lane again...
