    On the advice of a local garage I removed the damper of the VCU on my 1999 Freelander, when it became partially dislodged from the rubber mounting. I now think that I have made a big mistake as I now have a very noisy 'growl' from the transmission. The car runs well enough otherwise but I am concerned that I may be causing further damage. Any ideas?
