Dear All

Thanks for the help in advance

I have been having a hard start in my 300tdi since I bought it When I dont use for a +-3 days (it’s not always hard start but 70% of the time).

I think I have air in the System because I have to use the lift pump , I unbolt the breather bolt in the fuel filter and I have air because I see bubbles and only fuel coming out after a lot of pumping. After the pump the car starts fine.

I have already change the lift pump and the pipe that goes from the fuel sender in the tank to the lift pump. ( I took out the sedimenter).

I think the problem happens more When the fuel tank is low.

Also, my glow plugs dont work However I think it isnt the glow plugs since I have air in the System.

Is there anything I should check? Fuel sender? Return fuel pipe to the tank? Some valve between the fuel filter and the injection pump that I dont know of?

Thanks a lot!

Just a quick update, the pipes where like this. Haven't made a proper test yet but anyhow they were ruined.

Thanks again for the tip

In theory the leak off pipes can't allow air into your fuel filter - that's just theory though and Land Rover have shown us all it's capable of achieving the impossible
