Hi All

I've read some precious threads regarding resetting the windows and sunroof on a P38. Unfortunately what I've read up to this point does not work. I continue to get the message coming up saying windows not set and the same with the sunroof. Does anyone have other ideas how to reset it please?

Matt

press and hold to fully open the window. lift and hold to fully close the window and continue to hold for a couple of seconds until you get window set on the dash
for the sunroof, fully open, full close, fully tilt and fully close again, hold for a second or 2 until sunroof set message

That's the only way I know. Worn teeth on the mechanism might mess it up.

I always thought this bit "sunroof, fully open, full close, fully tilt and fully close again", should actually be "sunroof, fully open, full close, fully tilt and hold until sunroof set message".

Thanks for all the replies, sadly I still cant get either to work as normal using the above suggestions so I might need to take it to garage

Did you hold the button when closing the window ? The button needs to be held until the "Window Set" appears in the dash message display. Repeat for each window.

Note: If the windows or sunroof stick or stall during closing, that can cause issues setting them.

Procedure is also in the Owners Handbook. . . . . . (yes the book that nobody reads until they have to !! ).. FYI the part about front windows only is rubbish. One touch works on all the windows in both my P38's.

I'll have to check, but I'm sure the one touch up works on all windows on mine. I'll check tomorrow as I have to remove the thick layer of grime for the MOT.
Edit, one touch works on front and rear windows on mine. I have a vague idea that there is a setting in the BECM that affects it.
