Maybe one for @pwood999 ?
I used my horn the other day and wasn't very impressed. Then I heard @MrGorsky 's horn and it didn't sound like mine. A little investigation revealed my right hand horn was a) loose and b) not working.
If you take the grill and slam panel off and then remove the intercooler you can just about get access to both right and left-hand horns. The right-hand one on the driver's side is particularly awkward. With just a little more thought they could have made it impossible.
I've bought a pair of slimline Hella ones as replacement. However, the originals have a moulded 2-pin connector and the Hella ones have spade connectors. Now to the big question. I can reach the connector but only just. I certainly don't want to be soldering down there so I bottled it and reassembled everything. Ideally I would make some wires up to connect at the horn end with a male connector that fits into the existing female 2-pin plug. The question is: where do I find such a connector?! The male one on the original horn is moulded into the unit and cannot be removed. The pins are pretty small. I'm going to assume the polarity doesn't matter? Ideas anyone?
