Hiya ppl , I ain’t been on for years now,
As the tittle says I brought a rough running v8 90 3.9 efi .
Ticked over nice but as soon as you revved it up it was spluttering dying coughing all over the place, kept losing pressure on the fpr gauge.
External pump was either loud or quiet, at the time I was thinking cheap pump or in wrong location,
Done a few searches on this sight for problems on the 3.9 efi . Followed some of them to the best of my knowledge
There’s quite a few new sensors already on it,
Took pump of to check its flow rate and only a dribble was getting pushed out, thinking faulty fuel gauge, checked and cleaned out fuel pump and put it back plus petrol, fired her up and ran better but still losing pressure,
Cut in a cheap inline fuel filter just to see fuel going through,
Filter would be full or half empty, full on tick over but didn’t like to be revved,
Gutted because I could think of anything else to try, came back next day to find fuel filter quarter full with oil or a diesel blob,
Connected pump up to a fuel can with return hose, fired up straight away, set the fpr to 3 bar , ticks over and revs like a beast of a v8, tomorrows job, remove slider and tank quard to drop and flush tank out,
Any way nice to be back on here again, ian
