2002 Freelander 1 TD4 Shifter Surround?

Hello everyone.
I am the owner of a 2002 Freelander 1 TD4. My vehicle has an automatic transmission and the shifter surround is in a difficult situation. I am thinking of replacing it but there is a point I do not understand. Can the shifter surround of my vehicle be removed on its own or is it removed together with the center console surround?

Fairly easy to do, and it does make a nice improvement for very little pennies

My car is a 2002 model and the shifter surround is not round. I added a picture for better understanding. If it is not combined, the process seems to be easier. I just don't want to do something wrong because of the fragility of the old plastic parts.
