Did you paint the frame or fit a new one? Mine is rough, asked YRM if it's something they would consider doing and they said no not at the moment which seems a bit daft to me considering it always rusts to hell.

Don’t know yet, as It’s not been back on the road. Looks good though 😁

I bought quite a few rolls of this for doing my roof, sides, rear door etc... super cheap, super sticky and works really bloody well. The difference in noise before and after is noticeable and it's also made a huge difference in the insulation as...

300 quid!? Jesus, all that for a piece of steel tube that rusts within a week

It’s not a steering protector at all…it’s a hand rail for getting under it/ back out under it when those brutes break down 😎

What's the spacers for? Take them off and refit the wheels and see if it makes any difference

Update on this. I've now replaced the radius arm bushes and panhard rod bushes with genuine pattern parts and while I think it does feel a bit smoother on the road I've still got the same issue, albeit I don't think as bad. Redid the swivel pin...

Just the bog standard ones, I don't tend to fit polybushes
  • the_wolf
No idea mate but never had any fail like this before, they've only been fitted about 6 months
  • the_wolf
I reckon I may have found a big part of the issue. Removed the panhard rod and the bushes are completely degraded after only a few months so those will be getting replaced as will the radius arm bushes just to be sure

What did you do to sort it? What symptoms did you have?

Checked the lift pump when I took it out the box and it's nice and strong, great suck and blow action which is what I like. The fuel lines are larger than standard, I replaced them all years ago. I might replace the fuel filter again and stick a...

It's as clean as it is. Never had this problem before and it does tend to sit parked up for weeks at a time (not so much now).

Changed the fuel filter to rule that out and the pick up pipe and sender are new

Please help before I burn this thing. I had my Landy parked up for about 4 months and then I drove it for a little while then I started the rebuild. Prior to the lay up it was fine but since then and after the rebuild it has been shocking on...
  • the_wolf
It's not the a frame, and not quite a clonk. It's more of a click like something moves slightly at the front end but nothing is loose that I can see. This rattling through the steering has been happening since before the rebuild but the...

Would depend entirely on what it is. I asked them about a relatively common part (can't mind now what it was) and they said they don't make it and had no plans to at this point.
  • the_wolf
Well it's a new chassis so can't see that being the issue and the axle end is fine. It definitely seems to be much more likely to happen when I'm going round a left bend and hit a pothole or bump with the left wheel but I only think it's this, I...
  • the_wolf
I did check those and tightened them up even more but when I put it all back together they were torqued to specs. The bushes are new as are the bolts
  • the_wolf
No bearing movement on it at all and swivels are all good

the_wolf replied to the thread C reg speedo not working.
Check that the cable is actually fitted into the square housing of the speedo drive on the transfer box. It's hard to see and quite a few times when fitting it I thought mine was in but was actually jammed down the side so I had no speedo. Also...

Did you 'test' it with a prybar ? for excess movement etc ?
  • the_wolf
Jack up the n/s/f wheel and check for bearing and/or swivel pin play.
  • the_wolf
Coming back to this I haven't managed to get any further look at what could be causing the issue but I have noticed it definitely seems worse and much more noticeable when turning left and going over potholes at speed, or coming round a long left...

Can't argue with that logic lol. I don't think mine has been stolen because it looks like a bag of **** and I'm always fixing it but it's all an illusion 😉

the_wolf replied to the thread Coil spring issue.
It probably never happened before because the springs will have been rusted in place. You could fit dislocation cones if it's going to be a recurring problem
  • the_wolf
I'll have a look at the balljoint then and see if that is indeed the problem. I can live with it for now as it seemed ok last night during a wee drive about but the death wobble was the first time it had happened despite having had those rattle...

That's me! Seems like I forgot to update it. The drop arm, once off, was indeed knackered, the ball joint was both stiff and loose, if that even possible! Changed that and replaced the worse than useless Britpart steering damper which had been...
