yeah I agree there! I looked and yeah the pump is chain driven in the sump, so I'm hoping maybe the pump has jammed up so I'm going to order one and get the sump off and check! Thank you guys, will keep you posted

I did think about turning it by hand but without sounding daft I'm used to TDI and td5 so when I saw 3 bolts on the crank pulley I wondered how the hell I was going to do that..... Is there anything that can "jam" a TDCI if it's not actually seized
