Thanks for the reply, I think the scanner is pretty rubbish - I have ordered a nanocom so I should get it late this week - Ive just had the garage on the phone and there is no power getting to the injectors - they are checking the relay and then then all of the wires in the loom.
Thanks for...

Thank you for your replies - Ive looked through the videos and to be honest I havent considered a fuse being part of the issue.
I plugged in my pscan this afternoon and ive attached the readings - I just crank her over and then took the readings (Ive ordered a nanocom - i figured its about time...

So my local garage has replaced the injector seals and copper washers on all of the injectors. When the looked at them they said that they noticed diesel leaking from injector number 5 so there was definitely an issue there. I think I have mentioned before that the garage owner is a good friend...

To be honest mate I dont know, but the garage a pretty insistent that its that as it has the symptoms of a td5 that needed injectors they sorted a while ago. Im going to hire a nanocom (£40 from ebay) so that I can do a better fault code check just in case its something else.

Thanks fo the advice Discodevon - the TD5 is a dec 1999 with 85k miles. Ive changed the crank position sensor and the injector wiring harness and cleaned out the ECU connectors (there was a tiny bit of oil in there) and there is no difference or improvement. If she is left overnight she will...

Thanks for the comments. Yeah I get that the fuel pump maybe ok if its noisy but it just doesnt feel right - but im going to leave it on anyway.
I managed to connect up the PSCAN yesterday and it says that amongst other things "high speed crank sync lost" so Im going to change the crank...

Yeah Ill check both of these things. Regarding the air in the system I do think that this may be an issue, as I changed the fuel filter housing and as my fuel pump was noisy I bit the bullet and put on a genuine one. However that was screaming so sent it back and was found to be faulty so I just...

Hi Everyone
I have to be honest and I'm a wee bit low today...Landy has certainly been testing my mental health! I've worked on her constantly since I got her (2000 TD5 90) about 5-6 years ago. Pretty much a total rebuild initially and then a rolling restoration over this time.
Last month she...

Thanks mate - dod this cure it?

Well I replaced the fuel lines from the fuel filter to the pump and surprose surprise the noise is still there.
The only thing left to look at is the engine side of the fuel system. I replaced the Fuel Pressure Regulator a couple of years ago and doesnt leak and there is no dip in performance...

Hi everyone
My noisy TD5 fuel pump mystery continues. I know its not the pump (Ive replaced it 3 times including a VDO one) - the new one is quiet for 24 hours then goes noisy again.
Ive replaced the fuel filter and checked the air bleed filter (the fuel filter housing was replaced a month or...

Right - after much more research and deliberation I reckon the all the issues have come since I replaced the fuel filter housing a month or so ago. The connectors were a real pain to get off and I wonder if one or more of them are now damaged. They dont leak but you can pull them off without...

The saga continues.
The VDO fuel pump was confirmed to be faulty and I got my money back.
I fitted an after market fuel pump that was quiet for 2 days and then got loud. The fuel line marked number 8 on the fuel system diagram HP Feed Connection from pump direct to the Fuel Pressure Regulator...
