Hmmm, rad seal could be a temporary solution. It would be nice driving some miles this summer after spending hours and hours welding rust, fixing wire harness, exhaust, searching for various parts, looking for bolts in a rusty old bucket, etc...

That’s a good bodge last ages can’t see it taking any weight if it’s just a sensor. I had mine out a week ago on 10 mile bumpy off road, noticed the vacuum and washer bottle shaken off its corroded mounts on inner wing, so I cut up last of left...

Remove sender and dip the tank with a stick, compare reading to bottom of stand pipe, modify to suit.

Are the individual sections of linkages moving smoothly without stickiness, you would need to disconnect them to test though

Jack one wheel up, see how much you can turn it. With all wheels on the floor, how far can you turn the prop (handbrake released and out of gear) make sure it's secure and won't run you over

How about wear in the throttle linkages.. ours would tickover lovely when stationary, take it for a drive and it would be erratic again, all down to worn linkages.

Full metal throttle linkage - no cable sadly + you could balance a 50pence piece on that engine whilst she runs, super smooth
  • steve2286w
Perhaps a split in pick up pipe and when you went uphill this allowed it to suck in air
  • steve2286w
If you can get the tank down to half, siphon and stick dip while you have sender out and then trial fit sender bending the arm to get gauge to read about right. Probably the best you will get.

I think the only answer is to look and measure, who knows what a previous owner has done

Divide 250ft/pounds by your weight in pounds which will give to the length of bar in feet to stand on , if bar a bit longer just use tape to measure length where to stand Maybe do the final torque over the 210 when you know everything works and...
