Previously a Series 3 owner/user, now bought a 2002 Freelander GS TD4 Softback - what a difference !!!!
The Freelander on tarmac ride is worlds away from the old Series 3 but off-road performance is yet to come.
I've always had a softspot for any form of Land Rover, as had my grandfather before me, and often dreamed of a complete restoration project. There's something emotionally very sad about an abandoned Land Rover, which is almost human - often makes me think about what kind of experiences it had during its working life.
I'm now retired and bought the Freelander from my son to use primarily for my fishing trips and to save the wear and tare on our car, not to mention the smells! The vehicle originated new from Yeovil, and had lived locally until now where its new home is in Lincolnshire (still rural, but less hilly).
