Short journeys and lack of use... If it's stop start vehicle then an Agm battery is a must, also a slow jump start could be their jumper pack, bad earths and a few things. I would look into finding out if the battery management needs resetting...

if its e10 petrol, that goes off much quicker and means more 'off' fuel per litre of liquid

My MR2 started and ran just fine on very old petrol after I took it out of storage. I think it's more likely to be a problem on modern engines that are infested with sensors.

Detonators deteriorate so unplugged they can go off. There is a huge world wide recall on airbags from one manufacturer because they can detonate unexpectedly.

Surely unplugged it can't go off, so do the resistor fudge & leave the airbag where it is ?

Resistor packs to replace side airbags:- One 1.5 ohms 2 watt or 8off 12 Ohm 0.5 watt 1% in parallel.

They make a mess of the seat when they go off, ask me how I know.

Please make sure the battery has been disconnected for at least 30 mins before unplugging and plugging airbag connections 🫣

The side airbag will be well past it's use by date, I fitted a resistor at the connector and removed the airbags
