Two things I thought I’d mention. Injectors are slightly different depending on MY. Think it changes with EGR so if you have that. Particularly 4th injector as connectors different and not ideal to butcher a new one.
Other thing is if you read...
I'd give it a good clean down and check it again after a few miles.
If there has been a leak for a while, the oil will be in every minute place and will slowly ooze with the engines heat. Hopefully you don't have to drop the sump👍
After more hours hanging on the phone to the UK breakdown people, we've all tried various LR garages in the area. Most have closed down for the summer holidays, they won't re-open for another 2 weeks! There's an offer to repatriate the car in...
Took the project car on out bi-weekly 35km each way shopping trip and got an EAS fault, pressure signal constantly high and the pump sounds to be working too hard :(
Beru gets my vote. I think they run them a bit over voltage but they're robust enough to take it. Makes quite a difference. Put mine in years ago and they're still like new - and that's running a hot-start fix that forces the glows on every time...
Disconnect each wire on the plugs and do a resistance check on each glowplug, they should be between 0.9 ohm and 1.2 ohm.
Any one or two plugs different, change them all for beru or bosch. 👍
Also cycle the key and check for voltage at one of the...
Overcoming 'fiddly' can be lucrative. My one-time indie worked out ways of accomplishing certain tasks that officially required the body lifting. He was not only inventive but had small hands .. true he went through a good few sticky plasters...
As above 2 belts 1 like an anocoda in length and route and then a small belt just for the fan. the water pump is driven from the long belt.
The small belt is as said abit of a strech to get on as has no tensioner.
The manual really doesnt give...
Normally black on start up, it'll chug a little then run properly. Normally when one or two glow plugs go down it'll be a long crank to get it fire up🫣
Stating the obvious, handbooks are best kept in the car, no use in the cupboard. Have you checked for binding brakes?
With any Range Rover, best to never leave home without diagnostics to hand IMO, you would then know what the problem is/was...
I have no idea what the red and yellow warnings are, they will be in the owners handbook. However the faults were transient so maybe due to an overheat of engine or gearbox. If it were me I would risk the drive but go carefully and limit my...
Ok thanks again,
I'll do the leak off pipe's this weekend... I do have new pipe.. and I'll add some cleaner in the fuel.
The injection pump was refitted by a trusted friend, that was leaking too, but yes it performed much better too after he set...
Comment probably applies to any modern car, all disposable just that some cost more than others.
LR lost the plot decades ago, but to be fair they have to design/build what the market demands in order to stay in business.
Q. if JLR built a...
