Thanks for your help. I've got it booked into the Main Dealer for the service and have asked them if they come across the cause of the ticking during the service to fix it (if warranted), but I'm not paying a diag fee. Puts the ball in their court as to whether they want to "find" the issue...

I should also add that I intend to extend the warranty as long as I can. Would having a non-main dealer service stamp prevent me from doing this, or cause them to insist on some kind of inspection at renewal time? I can't find anything in the warranty t&c that mentions anything like this.
