Manuals here that will help apart from engine and other mods different on the lightweight http://smithies.co.nz/land_rover/ I would try not to farm out too much work as you will miss out on the learning and understanding of how bits work best...

So first you need to confirm how your batteries are wired. Cos it will make alot of difference when you need new elctrical bits. J

Just a little note to say thank you both for all your help - fuses bought and fitted and we have life!! indicators, windscreen wipers, lights (but one spot needs a bulb, and by the looks at what bulb came out (24v 70w) I guess its a 24v : /

Or try gentle persuasion with a soft faced mallet 🙄

I'm going to use the vice on my fingers each time I decide to buy something for it :)

Thank you Marjon! 😍 It's had power steering add, which is good, but yeah on full lock its not a happy bunny. Good shout on the hoses!
  • R
As you have a non standard engine and made up hoses, by the looks of it. Take the hose off and go to your frendly motor factor, go through his hoses and find 1 that is the right size and has the right bend. then cut off the bit you need. You may...

Not really sure yet... I think it's been converted to 12 - the batteries don't seem to be connected, and it has a winch. Another question I didn't ask when I was going gooey eyed looking at, rather than thinking with my head! (that approach might...

    Absolutely ace 😎👍

Looks very smart. Don’t worry about the non-original engine, all landies are different!

Wow, not what I was expecting! The genius thing would be to sell one of their kidneys. You’ll get a better price they can see it as a down payment on the inheritance. They only need one each afterall 🤷‍♂️

That's a good shout about starting a thread about it - the kids could use it as evidence when they begin their intervention 🤣😭Have shared a pic on the welcoming thread - it's not for the purists, but I love it!

In (what I thought was a genius move) bought it as it's ULEZ exempt! (unlike my old mazda bongo!) well. done. me! But, just realising that the money I'm probably/ excitedly going to spend on it is going to out weigh that! not. so. well. done...

Hi and welcome! Selling the kidney will probably be to pay the ULEZ. But until then, we need pics of the new Landy. We like pics… 😁

Have ordered 10 of the 8 and 25 amps from the link you shared, so will replace them all. I have a sneaky feeling I might have blown the fuses in a friendly fire incident - tapping around the dial panel with a screw driver - i tapped the hole in...

The fact you can run up to bed is a win as far as I'm concerned - even if you don't beat the dog it's pretty impressive :)

That type fuse and fuse holders are notorious for making a bad contact. I would replace the blown one after disconnecting the batteries, removing all the fuses and cleaning up the fuse holders and fuse contact ends with some wire wool or...
