@RRMaximus you have alot of perseverance.
You keep on bleating that you want to lower your RPM but if not fuel economy then why?
If its for engine longevity you do realise that a lower RPM but higher throttle request cause higher cylinder...
Finally after more than a year, repaired the plastic tabs on my lower tailgate trim last night. 2mm aluminium strips glued with Sticks Like SH*T. All nicely bonded, and re-installed just now. The cover has been flapping for ages.
Jack it under the axle & put axle stands under. Then height sensors are easy even on the bumps.
As others said get some schrader valves as well. Then you can raise it up, while fixing the pump.
Er actually you don't just take it, you respond at excessive length to the slightest comment or opinion.
You also did the same on the other forum, when anybody mentioned fuel economy, even though your first post on here and there mentioned it...
If the AC pipes are properly hot & cold, also check the Aspirator fan next to the clock, plus the Evaporator & Heater Core sensors.
Evap sensor is pushed into the right side of the heater box near the bulkhead. Heater core sensor is clipped...
Try running it with the air filter cover removed. That way crankcase fumes cannot get in to the inlet. Also try running with disconnected EGR & intercooler hoses. That way you can eliminate turbo seals leaking. Basically your dividing the...
@blue beasty do you think this thread could be shifted to AG or deleted or summat, as members of the public looking in might maybe get the wrong end of the stick as to how things are on here when genuine people ask genuine questions for genuine...
Actually the "157,213 to 1" was simply based on the fact that no one on this forum seems to know the answer, and that is the number of forum members !! There was absolutely nothing in that post either negative or positive towards anyone, not...
Also check the fuel hoses on the high pressure pump, plus the pump itself for any signs of leaks. They are hard to see under the inlet manifold, so use a mirror & torch.
Yes the filters do get clogged up. A tired pump usually impacts drivability as well as starting. But you said you replaced it, so it should be ok.
When parked uphill, turn the ignition on without starting until the glow plug light goes out...
FYI, I stopped commenting about fuel once you made that clear. My other posts were about the energy required to keep the car moving.
In principle agreeing with your theory about less engine wear, but the oil pressure question at lower RPM...
Having gone through similar recently, I suspect we have the same issue with injectors. In my case the low temp was solved with a new thermostat - PITA but done.
Our 2004 FL1 was smokey all the time, so did all the following:
Checked & cleaned...
Can't remember if you said you have a Nanocom or not ? If you do, then it should be easy do get the GEMS how you need it, before building the other vehicle.
